Bold and Bright: Summer Lipsticks for the Sunshine

Summer is finally here in the UK, we've had some beautiful, sunny days. One of my favourite things to do in the summer is to play with bright and beautiful lip colours and so I thought I would compile a short list some of my favourite, affordable lipsticks to brighten your days over the coming months. PS - my camera wasn't showing the colour of the swatches very well so I had to use my iPad to take picture swatches so the quality isn't great. PPS - the pictures were taken after 12 hrs of make up wearing so it's not looking great but my eye make up is a combination of Trick, Liar and Factory from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette combined with the Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. Prom 2016

Like many Year 11 students around the country, towards the beginning of July, I had a prom hosted by my school to celebrate the end of GCSEs. Around 9:45, my grandad came to pick me up and I washed and got ready for my make up appointment at their house - the day wasn't off to a great start but it was rectified. Mid-day I didn...

A Week Without Makeup - What It Taught Me

As a self confessed make up addict (you can never have too much...) the idea of not wearing make up for more than one or two days is incredibly daunting, with the last time I did this in school probably being year 7.  However, I always made a point of wearing make up because it's fun and interests me rather than to hide my insecurities or feel as though I HAD to wear make up to leave the house. And so, I decided to ditch the make up for an entire school week to see how it was.  Day One   Oh my word, I had so much time in the morning it was unreal. On a good day, I can do my make up in 5/10 minutes. On this day, I found myself with oodles of wonderful time left before I needed to leave the house at 8:30 to go to school.  Immediately as I left the house I began to regret my decision. I felt really insecure, realising that a lot of my friends  hadn't ever seen me without chemicals on my face - I tend to let my skin breathe at weekends.  However, not to worry, ...
